For credit institutes, the decisive competitive factors are service and speed. Credit queries, for example, are time-critical: they must often be answered on the day they are received. In addition, private customers of financial service providers have become surprisingly flexible: they don’t want to be tied to their home branch; they want to be able to make banking transactions anywhere. This is what makes customer service so challenging for this sector, and it creates a need for sophisticated and intelligent information technology – information technology that must also ensure that ever-stricter legal regulations regarding data submission and process standardization are properly implemented.
