PLM 2.0 extends the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) approach for product development with collaborative innovation and online collaboration and supports the IP management along the entire product life cycle.
PLM 2.0 addresses three levels within the innovation cycle: the productdevelopers, further business users and the consumers.
The basis is built by the authoring tools for product development to enable virtual design, realistic simulation and digital manufacturing. All in 3D, all online and all in a realistic and collaborative environment.
Upon that there is the collaborative innovation which provides productive collaboration for all users across all business processes in the extended enterprise. The open online environment assures IP management on a single comprehensive platform. Here you can harness the collective intelligence of the extended enterprise.
The top level represents the interface to the consumer which makes 3D experience available to all. Within the innovation spiral this level is especially important because this is what kicks the innovation process and ensures the exchange of customer experience inside and outside the company.

The manual synchronization of design and manufacturing data has been eliminated in V6. The connection between product, process and resources is kept up constantly so that any changes are immediately stored within the project and become visible for everyone.
Real-time online collaboration allows employees in globally distributed organizations to work and communicate on the same data in real time via the 3DLive applications.
The RFLP model (Requirements – Functional – Logical – Physical) enables multidisciplinary collaboration by combining the requirements, the functional specifications as well as the logical and physical view of the product within a common database. This ensures a high degree of traceability and consistency.
Simulations and validations can be performed at any time using the database already store during the RFLP model.
All aspects of the product development process are integrated within ENOVIA V6 so that the supply chain may also receive and return the current and correct information through an authorization concept and a secure online access.
